The radiator union connects it to rectangular-section pipes laid in the manner of skirting boards, the feed pipe being above and sealed to the return one. It comprises a section of pipe (1) fitting in the alcove, bevelled at the ends for butt-wedlding to side sections (2) of length to suit the alcove depth, these in turn being bevelled and butt-welded to pipe unions pieces (3). Thus a U-shaped stand with arms extending sideways is formed for the radiator (6), with two vertical pipes (5) of equal length extending from it to the latter, to which they are connected by valves (7). The vertical pipes are connected to the first pipe section (1) by sleeves welded in, the return pipe sleeve having an insert screwed into it with a nozzle sized to suit the radiator heat output. At the free end of the insert is a sealing spigot fitting in a hole drilled in the partition between the feed and return pipes.
|
