<p>A harp-shaped unit for balustrades in staircases is made up from prefab components. It is esp. suitable for single-family houses or terraced or multi-family residential buildings. The units are standardised, and assembled with intermediate pieces so that these compensate for dimensional differences in varying storey heights. Those in a base frame may be thinner. Wooden battens can be applied, to improve the appearance. Individual parts of a balustrade can be individually mounted. This provides wide ranging storey height compensation, so that balustrade units can be largely prefabricated.</p> |
