PURPOSE:To produce a soil conditioner which imparts water retention characteristics, air permeability and cultivability to soil, by a method wherein a water-insoluble water-absorbing resin is mixed with a carrier composed of the combustion ash of coal or adsorbed on the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A small amount of water is mixed with the combustion ash of coal. The mixt. is granulated to produce a carrier having a particle diameter of 1-3mm.. A water-insoluble water absorbing resin (which absorbs water of an amount of 50-1,000 times its own weight) selected from a starch-polyacrylic acid copolymer, a self-crosslinking polysodium acrylate, a hydrolyzate of a starch-polyacrylonitrile copolymer and PVA, is injected to mix the resin with the carrier or to absorb the resin on the carrier. |
