<p>PURPOSE:To recover copper and lead with a high yield, by dissolving the copper in the dross containing copper and lead by anodic oxidation using manganese ion as catalyst and removing it and then, depositing on the cathode side and moreover, converting lead into lead sulfate. CONSTITUTION:Dross containing copper and lead, is suspended in sulfuric acid acidic solution containing manganese ion and is electrolyzed suspending in the electrolytic bath. Then, the copper is dissolved on the anode side and copper is recovered as metallic copper on the cathode and also, lead is recovered as lead sulfate. Further, aeration is jointly used at the time of suspension electrolysis. For example, 21.6kg said dross is added to 60l electrolyte containing 60g/l copper concentration, 200g/l sulfuric acid concentration, 4g/l manganese concentration and suspension electrolysis is performed stirring by using lead plate as anode and copper plate as cathode at 1.9V voltage, 70A current, 550A/m<2> current density, 55 deg.C temperature for 129hr. 10.7kg metallic copper, 99.04% copper quality, are obtained by 98.8% current efficiency of copper elution.</p> |
