PURPOSE:To perform code conversion without requiring any mass read-only memory at all by converting fixed binary-coded numeric data, expressed by the complement of ''2'', into floating binary-coded numeric data. CONSTITUTION:At the rise of data strobe signal IS input to input terminal LD, 1-bit sign bit memory circuit 2 remembers the most significant digit N7, i.e. the sign bit of fixed binary-coded numberic data input to data input terminal I7. A shift register, on the other hand, stores fixed binary-coded numeric data I6...I0 input to data input terminals I6, I5...I0 at the fall of signal IS arriving at input terminal LD. Further, counter 5, etc., is equipped which handles bits as many as those of the exponent part of floating binary-coded numeric data, output data, so that effective code conversion can be attained without requiring any mass read-only memory at all. |
