The penicillin derivs. I(R1 = ph, p-HOC6H4, 1,4-cyclohexadienyl, 3-thienyl; R2 = primary amino, CO2H;R3 = H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl; A = β-lactam ring contg. compd.) were prepd. thus, chloromethyl 6-(D-α-azido-α-phenylacetamido)penicillanate was treated with potassium penicillanate 1,1-dioxide followed by redn. to give the 1,1-dioxide of penicillanoyl-oxymehyl 6-(D-α- amino -α-phenylacetamido)penicillanate-HCL(II). II was also prepd. from tetrabutylammonium 6-(D-amino-α-phenylacetamido)penicillanate and iodomethyl penicillanate 1,1-dioxide. Serum concn. of ampicillin resulting from intake of II was tabulated. |
