M- AND P-Fluorobenzylguanidines and their acid addition salts have been prepared and found to be active as hypoglycemic agents. m-Fluorobenzyl-guanidine hydrogen sulfate and p-fluorobenzylguanidine hydrogen sulfate are particularly effective in lowering blood sugar levels by the oral route of administration.
