PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of an oscillating portion by a method wherein oscillators are arranged so as to obtain the maximum efficiency with reduced number in the multi nozzle head type printer having a common ink chamber. CONSTITUTION:When one oscillator 3b is driven, this oscillation makes ink within an ink chamber excite directly or indirectly through a thin film, so that the oscillation is propagated in the ink from a starting point near the driven oscillator and falls off at the inverse square of the distance. When other oscillators 3a, 3c are driven at the distance of n times (n=integer) an excitation wave length lambda in the ink chamber within a range where the above inverse square characteristic is appeared and with the same phase as that of the above excitation wave length, oscillation waves excited by the oscillators 3a, 3c are activated again at new exciting points and propagate in the ink chamber without interferring with the oscillation wave excited by the oscillator 3b. Thus, the number of the oscillators can be reduced at the maximum efficiency. |
