PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of developers and deterioration of image sharpness in 2-color electrophotography using wet type development, by separating a developing solvent on a photoreceptor surface with a charger or an absorbing material after development. CONSTITUTION:Charger 10 is arranged between the first developing unit 6 and the second developing unit 7 to charge toner particles in the first developer 6b to the same polarity, for example, in the range of -4--6kV, the toner particles in the first developer 6b being negatively chargeable red toner particles. This method permits the red toner particles to be driven toward the surface of photoreceptor 1 by the electric field of charger 10, separation from a developing solvent to be effected, especially the solvent to be separated by rotation of drum 2 in its rotation direction. |
