Storing bagasse and similar cellulose-contg raw materials, by tipping or laying the material loosely on a slab or floor, and protecting it from ground water and heavy surface water; thus controlling the fermentation. Pref. the material is laid in successive layers, the max. fermentation of each layer having been reached before the next layer is added. The method may be applied to other seasonal agricultural prodts, which require long-term storage. |
