PURPOSE:To minimize the size and weight of a high voltage distributor for an internal combustion engine, to simplify the structure, and to assure vibration resisting capacity and durability by enlarging a gap between a side electrode and a rotor electrode at the maximum advance angle of the rotor electrode. CONSTITUTION:The ignition voltage generated at a high voltage generating circuit 1 is applied to a rotating rotor electrode 3A at a distributor to be successively distributed to side electrodes 41, 42,...4n and conducted to their corresponding ignition plugs 5. At the advance angle side of a side electrode 41 which is to receive the ignition voltage, the width of gap (g1) between the side electrode 41 and rotor electrode 3A, when distributing the ignition voltage, is set to be larger than the standard value by a predetermined amount l1, and at the same time, the rotor electrode is designed to keep the width of gap (g2) which is increased by the amount l1 which is also set in advance with the second side electrode 42 on the minimum advance angle side of the side electorde 41. |
