The switch panel has individual LED coloured operate and identification press buttons which operate a plunger to interrupt an opto-electronic circuit. The wiring (14,15) from the liquid crystal or LED segment display (3) is connected to a switching matrix, and each press button has a transparent top (9) so that the display is visible. When the button (8,9) is depressed (F) it hinges down to press a plunger (11) into the opto-electronic (13) interrupt circuitry. The plunger (11) has a restore spring (12). The button display (3) may be a one to four segment display. The object is for a small switch panel with many functions.
