The equipment is for splitting large pieces of wood (trunks etc.) using a threaded cone (3). This is mounted on a chassis (7) which can be coupled to any type of tractor. The threaded cone is made with varying cone angles and ends in a collar of greater diameter than the cone base. The cone is driven (6) by an engine or electric motor. Two cone layers are of constant cone angle. The remainder are made as part of an arc ending in the collar. The depth of thread is constant throughout its length.
