<p>PURPOSE:To provide smooth driving of an automobile in cold districts by constantly sucking up hot air for warming-up of an internal combustion engine by means of a device which switches the supply of cool or hot intake air for the engine. CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner 4 in which an element 9 is built is installed upstream a carburetor 5. A heating air intake port 8 and an open air intake port 12 are formed at the free end of the cleaner 4. Heated by a heat-exchanger placed in an exhaust pipe (not illustrated), air is constantly trapped from the heating air intake port 8. A thermostatic actuator 13 in which wax 15 is packed rests in the open air intake port 12 and opens a valve 11 at a specific temperature or more to let air come into the air cleaner.</p> |
