High speed laser writer for photocopier - has modulated and deflected beam applied to rotating photocopier process drum

The high speed laser writer for a photocopier has a laser beam modulated by a writing control and projected on the photocopier process drum by a rotating mirror array. The image is processed and printed following conventional photocopier techniques. The laser gun passes the beam through a simple modulator (5). A mirror reflects the beam onto a rotating drum with a series of plane mirrors about its edge and from there the beam is scanned onto the photocopier drum. The system operates at high speed and the image is processed with single- or double component toner.
