Welding straddling suspension label to open foil bag top end - by gripping bag below top then folding and heat-welding label by clamp jaws

Method is used for welding a straddling cardboard suspension label (29) over the open end (48) of a filled foil bag (10). The bag is first gripped between a plunger (5) and an endless belt (8) and moved to a welding station (36) where a printed and plastic-coated label is presented. The label is there folded double over the bag end (48) by welding jaws (37) which heat-seal the bag and thereby weld the label thereon. The plunger releases the bag which is then removed from the station (36) and deposited in a chute by the jaws.
