The ink-ribbon cartridge (1) has a pin (7) which projects from the bottom of the lower housing part (1a) and is arranged between the ribbon supply reel (5) and the housing aperture (11) for the outlet of the ink ribbon (4). Located around the pin is a helical spring (8) whose one end bears against the inner surface of the lower part of the housing and whose other end points away from the pin and is bent parallel thereto. The bent end of the helical spring serves as a ribbon guide (9) in order to keep the ink ribbon constantly taut.
