<p>The grinding head (5) with a grinding wheel (35) used for internal grinding is attached to a machine so that the head may be swung about a vertical axis, i.e. an axis at right angles to its axis of rotation. The work holder unit (42) is mounted on slides (41) so that the work (43) can be advanced towards the grinding wheel. The grinding wheel is mounted on an adaptor which can be locked inside a clamping sleeve (45) on an assembly so that it is supported above the slides. The adaptor has a connector with a horizontal stem (9) which is locked inside the clamping sleeve, and a head (6) at right angles to it, through which a locking bolt passes. This enables a cross head (17) to be clamped on, with a control handle (21) for sideways adjustment. The locking bolt enables these two members to be swung about the vertical axis. The cross head is connected to a clamping ring (28) which holds the grinding wheel and also a pneumatic turbine (36) which drives it.</p> |
