PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a picture of good quality while cleaning the surface of a photoreceptor sufficiently without scratching, by providing the method of compressing toner and permitting a constant amount of it to stay between a magnetic roll and the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:On magnetic roll 8' that has a nonmagnetic sleeve and a magnet arranged inside of it, magnetic brush 8 for magnetic toner is formed and photoreceptor 1 is cleaned by sliding magnetic brush 8 on the surface of photoreceptor 1. in this case, processing part 5 is internally provided with hopper 6 that receives toner and plate body 7 that compresses the toner between magnetic roll 8' and photoreceptor 1 at the entrance side of magnetic brush 8 and then permits a constant amount of the toner to stay. Through the action of regulating plate 7, brush 8 develops an electrostatic latent image on photoreceptor 1 in development and eliminates completely toner dirt on photoreceptor 1, in the cleaning stage, cleaning the photoreception surface. |
