New feedstuffs are in foam or blown form, the hollow interior of the foam particles are vesicles being filled with lipids. Used for provision of fats in friable, free-flowing form for use in animal feeds. The foamed material is pref. produced from cereal and/or protein materials. Partic. suitable is ground maize which has been subsequently blown analogously to the prodn. of popcorn. Pref. lipids are animal and vegetable fats. These may contain antioxidants (which are required in smaller amts. than usual), as well as additives such as growth promoters, insecticides, fungicidal preservatives, antibiotics, medicaments, additives to improve feed utilisation, aromatic non-protein nitrogen-contg. cpds., trace elements etc. |
