The additional hanging-uo arrangement within the handset is simplified by utilising the contacts on the handset cradle thus eliminating the need for additional contactors. The push-button (1) releasing the connection to the exchange acts on a Bowden cable (3) to open the electrical contacts associated with the handset cradle (6). The use of a Bowden cable makes the mechanical interconnection between the operating button and contacts easy to install and operate. It also requires little maintenance. A mechanical interlock can be arranged between the cradle and oush-button. An extension arm (12) on the cradle (6) operates in conjunction with a cam (2) driven by the push-button. A position indicator can also be incorporated in the push-button.
