Gas discharge display screen substrate - receives conductor traces by thick film deposition on masked photolacquer coated thin film layer

Glass substrates, carrying electrode conductor tracks for gas discharge display screens containing Penning gas mixtures, are produced by applying to a glass substrate a thin nickel film, covered by a layer of photolacquer. A mask for the conductor track pattern is used to expose the thin nickel film for this pattern, followed by nickel deposition on the exposed thin film which was not masked. The photolacquer remnants and the nickel film below them are finally removed by conventional techniques. This creates a continuous process for the application of such conductor tracks which saves cost and has a high productivity of high-quality display screens.
