Algae growth basins - receive nutrient from fermentation gas reactor

The Parent Patent No. 2924387 described a reactor for the production of methane gas from the digestion of organic remains. It is now suggested to feed the digested material as a nutrient to basins for the growth of algae. A motor driven spindle with impellers aerates the basins and the algae are gathered by pulling a scoop, followed by a filter bag, on rollers across the length of a basin to skim off a layer of algae. This is a low-cost method of growing algae for the inoculation of rice fileds or for the mass production of carotin and glycerine from dunaliella algae.
