The candle in the form of a tower has flat side surfaces (3,6) which are provided with cutouts (24, 34). Additional devices (20,30) are inserted in the said cutouts in the form of clocks, musical boxes or electronic entertainment gadgets. The tower has a removable roof part (2) which in the mounted state conceals a candle insert (16) at the upper end of the tower, which insert has a candle which can be lit when the roof part (2) is removed and which can itself be replaced or has a soft wax filling which can be supplemented by soft wax granules. <IMAGE>
