PURPOSE:To prevent the effect of ultraviolet-ray shielding from deteriorating even in humid hot environments by permitting an ultraviolet-ray absorbent, differing in concentration, to reside between protective coatings on both sides of a polarizing element. CONSTITUTION:Between coatings on both the sides of a polarizing element, an ultraviolet-ray absorbent differing in concentration is permitted to reside and on protective coatings containing the ultraviolet-ray absorber of high concentration, adhesive materials are applied so as to anchor the polarizing element onto a liquid- crystal cell substrate. Consequently, the effect of ultraviolet-ray shielding seldom deteriorates even in humid and hot environments of 80 deg.C or 60 deg.C and about 90%RH and the property of preventing a liquid-crystal substance from deteriorating in ultraviolet rays is extremely excellent. |
