PURPOSE:To unify a temperature distribution and improve the quality of a picture by a method wherein a recording pulse impressed into a heating element is formed by a pulse train signal having a predetermined period while an impressing period of time of the pulse train signal is varied in accordance with an input picture element signal. CONSTITUTION:For example, a picture signal Vs, inputted from a picture input terminal 4, is transduced into two-gradation information of parallel three bits sequentially with respect to each signal by means of a decoder 5 and is inputted in a serial shift sequentially into a shift registor 6 (n-bit) with a clock pulse Pc. Next, a content of the registor is outputted in parallel respectively and is inputted in preset into an octal system counter 8 in a pulse train signal generating circuit 7 corresponding to registor bits. Then, a record commanding pulse Pw is inputted from a terminal 13 and an AND gate 10 is put on to output a corresponding pulse train signal Pr. Said signal is power amplified by a driver 11 and is impressed into each heating element 2 as a printing pulse to form an eight-gradations variable density record or the like. EFFECT:This system may be applied to a gradation recording and a multicolor recording. |
