Removal of components such as chloride from liq. samples - using recirculated air stream into acidified sample to strip out hydrogen chloride while returning organic trace materials

Components in a liquid sample which contains organic components can be removed if they interfere with the desired analysis. The undesirable components are first converted to the form of a dissolved gas which is then stripped out by bubbling a carrier gas through the sample. The gas flows over into a coller sepn. zone where the stripped out component condenses. Any organic material taken with the carrier gas is returned to the sample via the gas circulation pump. The process is of esp. use to remove chlorides from liquid samples. The gas recirculation ensures that the more volatile organic components are not lost from the system.
