An inker for an offset machine includes a first pressure plate (17) and a second pressure plate (15a) with a lead screw rotatable to drive the second pressure plate (15a) towards the first pressure plate (17) to expel ink from a can having its base in contact with the second pressure plate (15a) and a barrier member (2) in contact with the first pressure plate (17) so as to expel ink through a central aperture of the barrier member (2) and to drive that ink along uniform length flow paths defined by passages (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d and 13e) to outlet ports (20a, 20b etc.).
