发明名称 METHOD FOR DETECTING CONDITION OF POWDER IN CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLD
摘要 PURPOSE:To decide the condition of a powder film from varying potential levels and prevent the breakdown and surface flaws of the frozen shell in the mold from occuring by measuring the potential of the copper or copper alloy plate of the mold during continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:A potentiometer 12 is connected to the copper or copper alloy plate 6 of a mold 3 and the potential of the copper or cooper alloy plate 6 of the mold 3 during molding by using powder is measured by a recorder 14 via an amplifier 13. Then, as the casting speed is highter, the thickness of the powder film 10 between the plate 6 and the frozen shell 4 is thinner and the potential level of the plate 6 is higher. As the casting speed is lower, the powder film 10 is thicker and the potential level is lower. The fluctuations in the potential are larger at the high speed casting than at the low speed casting, and under the condition of the thick powder film 10, the film thickness fluctuates, therebyforming an ingot unevenly.
