<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time and to increase the processing efficiency, by storing the range of effective date on the label of the magnetic tape cartridge and copying the effective date only at copying. CONSTITUTION:To the host control unit 1, the mass storage control unit 2 performing the control management for entire system and the stage adaptor 3 controlling the staging are connected. To this control unit 2, the mass storage 5 consisting of a number of cylindrical magnetic tape cartridges 6 is connected, and the magnetic disc pack unit 7 is connected to the adaptor 3. Data transfer is made between the unit 7 and the cartiridge 6 via the adaptor 3, the range of effective data is stored in the label of the cartridge 6, the range of effective data is read out at copying to copy only the effective data of the cartridge 6.</p> |
