<p>A machine for cutting the loops of loop-pile fabrics (4) to form cut-pile fabrics, such as corduroy, velvet and velveteen, comprises driving, trailing and guiding rollers (2, 3) arranged to pass a loop-pile fabric (4) sequentially over a first bed (5) and a second bed (6). At each bed (5, 6) there is a rotatable shaft (7, 8 respectively) carrying annular cutting knives (12, 13 respectively). There are needle guides (14, 15) for each knife, controlled by actuation means (10, 16 and 11, 17 respectively) at the first bed (5) and second bed (6). The needle guides (14, 15) thread through the loops of races of the loop-pile fabric to be cut, and those at the second bed (6) are arranged to guide the associated knives (13) to cut the loops of the races of the loop-pile fabric uncut at the first bed (5). <IMAGE></p> |
