A sterilising appts. consists of an electrolytic cell with a housing contg. several parallel planes in which concentric electrodes are arranged in rings. The electrodes receive a power supply through leads along slots in a central insulating column. The liquid to be sterilised passes through the cell in the ascending direction. The sterilising cell is of simple design and has a high efficiency.
