The unwanted displacement of hand looms owing to the strokes of the beam of the loom may be prevented by the loom being placed on supports allowing the whole loom a swinging movement due to the working of the beam of the loom. The active part of the support may e.g. be constituted by a crank throw forcing the loom up at a higher level and then immediately returning to the point of departure without the support being displaced relative to the floor. Another embodiment is constituted by a substantially elliptical body, while a third damper consists of a circularly cylindrical body arranged between two circularly cylindrical surfaces. In a fourth embodiment, a spherical body is arranged between two bowl- shaped cut-outs.
