PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material having high dye releasing efficiency and giving high transfer density and a residual dye image with reduced residual yellow by adding a specified dye releasing redox compound of o-sulfonamidophenol type. CONSTITUTION:To silver halide is added a dye releasing redox compound represented by the formula (where G is OH or a group giving OH by hydrolysis, Col is dye or its precursor, each of R<1> and R<2> is alkyl or aromatic, R<1> and R<5> may bond to each other to form a ring, R<3> is H, alkyl or aromatic, R<4> is alkyl or aromatic, R<5> is alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, arylthio, halogen or acylamino, n is 0, 1 or 2, R<4> and R<5>, R<1> and R<4>, and R<1> and R<5> may bond to each other, respectively to form a condensed ring, and the total C number of R<1>-Rn<5>>=7) in a compound to silver halide molar ratio of about 50-0.5. Because of high dye releasing efficiency the use of this compound can be reduced as compared to a conventional compound. |
