Continuous welding machine for steel tubes - has steel strip feed coil and guide to feed successive strips into forming and welding machines

The machine for continuous production of precision longitudinally welded tubes has a steel strip feed coil, strip guide and butt welding machine. A strip storage is arranged between the tube forming and welding machines. The arrangement ensures rapid and damage free feeding of the successive strips on changeover to ensure uninterrupted continuous operation. Several coil stands are arranged on the entry side. Their vertical shafts (14) have each a replaceable sleeve (11) for tightly wound coil (10). The feed stand (1) and the guides (3) of the strip guide (2) ensure that the end of a subsequent coil is threaded into the guide readily without significant edge loading of the strip (9).
