<p>1507618 Securing scraper pans MINING SUPPLIES Ltd 1 Dec 1976 50034/76 Heading B8A In a joint for connecting together adjacent ends of individual elongate pans 7, 7 of an armoured scraper chain conveyer the adjacent conveyer pan ends are provided on the outsides of their sidewalls with interengaging male and female formations 11, 12. Each formation is provided with one or more abutment surfaces forming part of a laterally open pocket 21 connected to a laterally open channel 14. The pocket and channel of adjacent pan ends receive a common laterally inserted connector 40 having a shank portion 41. The latter is located within respective channels and at each end of the shank portion an enlarged head 42 is located within respective pockets 21 so as to be engageable with an abutment surface 20 of a respective pocket. An aperture 43 is provided in the shank portion to receive a locating pin 45 restrained from lateral displacement by engagement with a projection 38 of one or other of the formations.</p> |
