Versatile multi-post machine tool turntable - uses demountable box section perimeter pillar to locate pivotable tool chair on vertical axle

The adaptable multi-post machine tool table (3) permits a sequence of different machining operations, using an annular double- walled (2,4) substructure to locate a turntable (1). Demountable height adjustable square hollow section pillars (7) are fixed to the perimeter, each locating a tool (8) cradle (29) which is adjustable for angle in both the horizontal and vertical planes. A vertical axle (21) is located by holes (10) in the pillar cross walls (9), its head (22) locating a horizontal axle (28) for a cradle in a co-axial or an offset position. Horizontal trapezoidal section pillar wall grooves (12) may be bolted (13) onto rails (14) of reciprocal section, the latter being secured to the table barrel by captive bolts (19) in 'T' section grooves (6).
