<p>The safety equipment, for road or rail vehicles, gives emergency braking when control of the vehicle is lost. On each wheel is an arm (8) pivoted on its shaft by an oval (6) at its end. There is a shoe (9) with a flat radial exterior tangential to the wheel. The shoe rear has protrusions forming a friction shape to grip the ground (1). There is a pin to hold in a horizontal rest position and release when required. The oval absorbs displacement due to compression of the tyre if punctured.</p> |
