<p>The ball point pen with a capillary fibre rod (10) between the ball (4) and an ink cartridge, has a regulator sleeve (3) carrying multiple projecting vanes (6) around the rear part of the rod, to regulate the flow of ink. The rear part of this sleeve terminates in a hollow boss (9) enclosing the end of the rod. This fits into a membrane (12a) across the ink cartridge (12) to pierce it. The vanes control the ink flow by selective access to atmosphere.</p> |
