<p>The fishing reel comprises a drum (1) on a spindle (3) rotated by a handle (6) through bevel gearing (4,5). A reel (7) over the drum carries the pick-up arm (15). This drum has two supports (9,10), with two screws (13,14) holding the ends of the pick-up arm. When casting, this pick-up arm is open and the drum locked (34,41) to prevent rotation. To recover the line, the handle (6) is turned to rotate the drum. This causes the lock (41) to disengage (34) and a catch (48,49) releases the pick-up arm which returns to its closed position.</p> |
