<p>Reproduction paintings are made by mounting layer of glass cloth over a wooden frame and impregnating the cloth with a resin which is dried to make the base cloth taut before mounting the picture as a paper print supported on an adhesive coating. The print is coated in turn with a layer of varnish to produce a relief effect and a further layer of varnish to provide a glass surface. The space within the frame behind the picture is filled with padding contained by a backboard. Specific claims include use of pictures printed on paper or silk; of neoprene based gum to impregnate the base fabric; of a varnish 'Albryd au toluol' to stick the print to the base fabric; of an acrylic emulsion to produce the relief effect of pieces of coiled paper, wood shavings or polyurethane foam as the padding behind the base fabric.</p> |
