The stretcher has an open, latticed surface (1) supported on a chassis whose vertical face has a series of rollers (9,10) which run along an impermeable surface under the grille. These enable the bed or stretcher to be placed on its end and transported easily. The stretcher can be mounted on telescopic supports and a locking screw fixes the mattress support at the required height. The telescopic legs can be removed so the stretcher can be used in the conventional way.
