PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately detect the distance even when pulsating waves are contained in external light rays by providing means for injecting measuring pulses at specific timing points of pulsating waves when pulsating waves are contained in light receiving waves for measuring the diatance. CONSTITUTION:Pulse light 1 is transmitted toward a body to be measured of distance, and reflected light from the body to be measured of distance is received by receiving elements 9-12 in accordance with parallax to measure the distance in the case where, under a fluorescent lamp of an artificial luminous source, there are pulsating waves twide the source frequency, and the light receiving element 14 and the photoelectric conversion circuit 15 contain pulsating waves detecting light from the body to be image picked up, exposed to the illumination light, the sumit or bottom of the timing where the ratio of variation in the pulsating wave is small is detected. Measuring pulse light rays are irradiated from the light source 1 onto the timing bc and de, and signals of light receiving elements 9-12 in the timing are processed 13 to measure the distance. By these procedures, even when there exist pulsating waves, a correct distance detection can be performed. |
