Cigarette with graded tobacco mixture - has strong tobacco at lighted end for initial smoking and weaker tobacco at filter end

The cigarette comprises a filter (2) at one end and a column (1) of tobacco enclosed with paper wrapping (3). At the end farthest from the filter, that is, the lighted end, the column of tobacco is made up of a strong mixture (4) which is rich in nicotine and/or tar. This provides initial satisfaction. The remainder of the cigarette contains one or more less strong tobacco mixtures (5), to provide smoking satisfaction without the risks inherent in high nicotine and tar levels. The ratio between the stronger and less strong tobaccos is approximately 1/3 to 2/3 respectively.
