A laboratory centrifuge comprises a rotor with supports on its periphery to hold centrifugation receivers with open tops. Each support is mounted so that it can pivot about an axis, the pivotal movement being limited by adjustable stops provided on the rotor. The stops designed to adjust the angle of decantation are disposed radially inside the supports. The mounting for the trunnions is formed by hollowings realised in the form of bearing half-shells on the lower face of the rotor, and by a counter-bearing common to two neighbouring trunnions. Wt. distribution is better than in existing rotors. Material fatigue is reduced so that life is prolonged. The rotor can be made in metal, pref. an aluminium alloy for precision casting, instead of synthetic materials.
|
