<p>The fence comprises precast reinforced concrete units (1) of a rectangular elevation and with an 'L' shaped cross section. The base (2) is buried and staggered adjacent bases are connected by reinforced concrete site work. Each unit has a rectangular stem window (3) at base level, and a reinforcement link (4) projects into the window. Units are installed on a sand bed (6) in a foundation excavation. Longitudinal bars (7) are then placed on each side together with transverse bars (8) through the links. A concrete base (9) is now poured, having a thickness of approximately twice that of the precast base.</p> |
