The corkscrew comprises an outer casing, in three sections sliding telescopically. This casing houses two sets (16,17) of pulleys at the top and two sets at the bottom. The upper set is fixed and the lower set forms part of a carrier (7) moving into the casing (1). A belt (19) passes over these pulleys. The handle (25) screws the extractor point directly into the cork and, when pulled upwards, the casing extends and the carrier (8) moves up to a shoulder (2), extracting the cork. The reduction in effort depends on the diameters and number of pulleys.
|
