The cover is fitted on the roller by first positioning the cover (36, 35) on a temporary support (37) which can be unscrewed axially and then inserting the roller (38) end foremost into the cover while the temporary support is simultaneously unscrewed from the opposite end; to remove the cover, the cover is cut longitudinally to a distance of 0.05 +/- 0.25 mm from the periphery of the roller with subsequent removal of the two halves of the cover. The equipment has a tubular member (18) for the positioning of the cover, a collar with two blades (33) and two guide bushes (22-26) for the cutting of the cover. Fitting is thus made simpler and more reliable, as is removal. <IMAGE> |
