The sliding bearing, in particular for bridges, has a base plate (1) made of metal, a plastic plate (2) lying thereon with continuous holes (4), which contain a lubricant, and a sliding plate (3) resting on the plastic plate (2), the base plate (1) having on its contact surface (6) with the plastic plate (2) a roughness in the region of N4 - N10. It is thus brought about that the lubricant cannot emerge at the contact surface (6) and nevertheless a relatively great friction arises, which counteracts the displacement of the two plates. <IMAGE>
