Compost bay transport system - using roller table and rail mounted traverser for pallets under central control

Transport system for pressed mouldings of a mixt. of refuse and sewage sludge on pallets for storage in and removal from a compost processing building, includes a roller table near the presses, and a traverser which groups the pallets in sets of four on a cross carriage. A network of rail tracks guides the traverser to an empty row where the pallets are deposited. The cross carriage is fitted with a cable drum and a control cable links it to a central control console from which all transport movements are co-ordinated. Transport system is simple and efficient and saves much labour compared with fork lift truck operation. In addn. to labour, it saves power and pallet wear, and produces less noise.
